With two small children, finding a new home, managing the admin life throws at you and adding the move to another country into the mix, it’s no wonder Michelle and James reached out for professional help to establish their new home. After selling everything they owned back in the UK, time was of the essence to design and deliver this project for a young family needing somewhere to call home.
The design team had a clear brief that the home was to be flexible in its function and exude a relaxed Coastal style. With young growing children and the prospect of visiting family from overseas, the rooms needed to be multi-functional and family-friendly.
The team leaned into their strong knowledge of suppliers across Australia to find the perfect pieces in line with the client's budget and timelines. With the fast-paced response from both the client and the design team, the project was completed in 2 weeks.
The materials were of high consideration throughout the design process. Robust finishes were complemented with textured soft furnishings giving a light and breezy coastal home for this English family. The lounge possesses a soft linen look and feel but it is a durable blend fabric that also has a fully removable cover for easy cleaning The clever design also becomes a luxury double bed for those friends and family visiting.
Many of the timbers were washed or aged presenting the perfect surfaces for robust living. No precious finishes that showed wear and tear, only surfaces that become more beautiful as they are worn in.
